Terms of Service
Last updated October 9, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and us. We wrote them to be easy to read. Please read them before you sign up.
1. Who we are
HomewardText is a trade name of BridgeComm Unity Networks. When these terms say "we", "us" or "HomewardText", they mean BridgeComm Unity Networks. When they say "you", they mean the person who signs up.
Our mailing address is 4400 Brownsville Rd, Ste 105 PMB 3201, Powder Springs, GA 30127, United States.
BridgeComm Unity Networks also operates other text services under the names Lazos Familia and GoodWordText. Those services have their own terms.
We are not part of any prison, jail or government agency, and no facility endorses us.
2. Who can use HomewardText
- You must be 18 or older.
- You must sign up with a mobile number that is yours. Only the person who owns a number can sign it up. No one can sign up someone else's number, and a person inside can't sign up a family member's number.
- The service is for numbers in the United States.
- The information you give us must be true.
3. What we do
You text a dedicated HomewardText number. We send your words, exactly as written, into the electronic messaging system that your loved one's facility uses. When they reply, we send their reply to you as a text. We can also send photo prints, greeting cards and article lookups, and paper mail on request.
Every plan covers one person inside. Essential includes up to 2 family phone numbers, Plus up to 4 and Family up to 6. Each family member signs up their own number.
4. Your account on the facility's system
You hold your own account on the messaging system the facility uses. You give us written permission to send and receive messages through that account for you. We walk you through it.
- We only use your account in the ways you allow, and only to send your messages and get their replies.
- We never use an account in anyone's name without their permission.
- You can take back your permission at any time by cancelling your plan or contacting us. When you do, we stop using your account.
- You agree to follow that system's own rules. Its rules are separate from ours.
5. Your messages
- You are responsible for what you write. We send your words as you wrote them. We don't edit them.
- Facility staff may read messages. The facility decides what gets through, and when.
- We may decline to send a message that breaks the law or the facility's rules, or that threatens or harms someone.
- We don't promise a message will arrive by a certain time. Facility systems are outside our control.
6. What we don't do
- We don't pass messages between two people who are both inside.
- We don't look people up or search records.
- We don't handle anything about money requests.
- We don't send messages to or about other residents.
- We don't offer sports picks.
7. Facility rules and pauses
Some facilities don't allow outside services. If a facility blocks outside messages, we pause your service. You aren't charged for the pause, and we text you when it's back. If service can't come back, you can cancel at any time.
8. Price, free trial and renewal
- Plans cost: Essential $12.99 a month, Plus $24.99 a month, Family $36.99 a month.
- Every plan starts with a 48-hour free trial for new customers.
- After the 48-hour free trial, your plan renews at its plan price each month until you cancel. We charge the card or digital wallet you give us at the end of the trial and then once a month.
- We text you a reminder before your trial ends.
- We accept cards and digital wallets only.
- If we ever change the price, we'll tell you before it applies to you, and you can cancel.
9. Cancelling
You can cancel anytime online at homewardtext.com/account. You don't need to call us. If you cancel during the free trial, you won't be charged. If you cancel later, you won't be charged again.
Replying STOP to a text stops our texts, but it doesn't cancel your plan. To stop paying, cancel at homewardtext.com/account.
10. Refunds
- If you cancel within 7 days of your first charge, you get a full refund.
- After that, we don't give partial refunds for the rest of a month.
- If a facility blocks outside messages, we pause your service and you aren't charged for the pause.
- Prints already sent can't be refunded.
11. Extras
Article lookups are included in every plan. Add-ons on any plan cost: 4x6 photo print $0.25; letter-size print $0.50 plain or $1.00 glossy; greeting card $3.99; extra family phone number $3 a month. Plus includes 10 free 4x6 prints a month and Family includes 20; free prints count against 4x6 prints only and don't carry over. We only charge for an add-on after you say yes. Paper mail is available on request. Facility mail rules apply to anything we send.
12. Texts we send you
We only text you if you agree. Our texting terms explain what we send and how to stop. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop, or HELP for help.
13. Using the service fairly
Unlimited texts are for personal messages between you and your family. We may pause accounts that send automated, bulk or commercial messages.
Don't use HomewardText to break the law, harass or threaten anyone, plan harm, get around a facility's rules, or pretend to be someone else. Don't try to break into or overload our systems.
14. Our automated assistant
Every plan includes Homeward Helper, an automated assistant. It always tells you it is automated. It can answer questions, check order and print status, tell you whether a facility has paused messages, help you change your number or cancel, and warn you before a trial or renewal charge.
- It only talks with you. It never writes to the person inside, and never poses as anyone.
- It never changes your messages. Your words go exactly as you wrote them. If it helps you draft a card or note, nothing is sent until you approve the exact words.
- A person handles anything about safety, billing disputes and facility blocks. You can reach a person any time by texting PERSON to your Homeward Helper number.
- The assistant can make mistakes. If something it says doesn't look right, text PERSON to your Homeward Helper number.
15. Ending service
We may pause or end your service if you break these terms, if the information you gave us is false, or if a facility or the law requires it. If we end your service for a reason that isn't your fault, we'll refund any part of a month you paid for and didn't get.
16. Limits on our responsibility
We work hard to keep the service running, but we can't control facility systems, mobile carriers or the post. To the extent the law allows:
- we provide the service "as is", without promises that it will always be available or free of errors;
- we aren't responsible for delays, blocks or losses caused by a facility, its messaging system, a mobile carrier or the post; and
- our total responsibility to you is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before the problem.
Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the law that can't be taken away.
17. Georgia law
The laws of the State of Georgia, United States, govern these terms. Any dispute will be handled in the state or federal courts located in Georgia, unless the law where you live gives you the right to go to court there.
18. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here with a new date. If a change matters to you, we'll tell you before it takes effect, and you can cancel.
